Test Weight, Thickness, Diameter or Length and Hardness of tablets using the unique PTB 411E tablet testing instrument. Manually place the sample onto the connected balance (Mettler or Sartorius Analytical Balance); after the weight is automatically stored, move the sample for thickness testing into the PTB 411E. After the thickness has been measured, the sample is automatically moved into the horizontal position for the diameter (length) and hardness test. All the 4 results from the same sample are displayed on the LCD instrument display and printed via the printer port which will support either a Matrix or DeskJet (PCL type) printer. Operating Principle Depending on the tablet hardness you can manually test between 5 to 8 samples per minute for weight, thickness, diameter and hardness. Due to the user transportation of samples between the two instruments, the correct positioning of shaped samples within the length-hardness test station is guaranteed. Test tablets are collected in a removable Plexiglas (Perspex) shoot. To test the thickness of different tablet sizes and shapes, easily interchangeable jaw sets are available. Those thickness test jaws keep the tablet in a vertical position. Then, after this is complete, the sample automatically moves into horizontal position for the subsequent tests to be performed. Up to 20 testing methods can be filed within the instrument, describing the nominal values, tolerance range setting and number of samples to be tested. The user selects which of the test stations should be activated. He may enter any product specific information and established T1 and T2 tolerance ranges using the alpha-numerical keyboard. The printed report will inform the operator if specifications have been passed or failed.
