EP Apparatus 4 - FTC Test Instrument

The PT-DZ7 is an instrument for the in-vitro test method for the determination of active ingredient release from various preparations using the "flow-through-cell (FTC) method" and has become an official apparatus within the USP and EP and Japanese pharmacopoeias (App. 4). While the USP describes a system which includes a pump prividing a degree of flow pulsation, the PT-DZ7 system offers a unique laminar flow pump system.
Whenever automated sampling of the PT-DZ7 is required the PT-FC2DZ fraction collector offers an ideal choice. The control of the PT-FC2DZ fraction collector with respect to sampling times, dosage volumes is done via the keyboard of the PT-FC2DZ itself. Connect the system components for a semi automated operation.
Standardized solvent transport offers a high standard of reproducability and reliability for dissolution tests.
Also the economical aspect will show that automated sampling offers advantages as the operator does only need to fill the flasks and introduce the samples, thereafter the system operates automatically. Using a PT-FC2DZ fraction collector means that the way of analysis is open for spectrometer or LC. The filled vials within the vial dish are manually moved to the analiser and either manually injected or transferred to an autoinjection system.
A typical semi automated FTC-DZ dissolution test system is composed of the following instruments:
PT-DZ7, PTFE tubing installation, and a PT-FC2DZ Fraction Collector.
